The church here has never had a men's night or any kind of association of men that get together regularly to worship and discuss issues common to men. This was an experiment. We had a group of about 30 men come for this night and they were from a variety of cultures.
Some of the men were Christians from Muslim countries. We had an arabic interpreter for their benefit. Others were Ukranian and we had an interpreter help us for the Russian. Some of the men were from church backgrounds and others were not.
All of the speakers spoke clearly and from God's word. It is hard to judge or understand the response from the men here. The culture is very much reserved and men do not generally show emotion in this culture.
Every man who discussed the messages with us was positive and thanked us for the challenging words. We have planted a seed. We do not know how it will bear fruit.
We had a brief social time after the sessions and I believe a good time was had by all. Time did not allow for all of the social time we would like to have had but we believe God did use the night for his benefit.
